Welcome to Clear River Electric & Water District
On January 1, 2025 Pascoag Utility District merged with Harrisville Fire District’s Water Department creating Clear River Electric & Water District. The Clear River Electric & Water District (CREW) was incorporated by a special act of the Rhode Island General Assembly. A quasi-municipal utility, CREW provides Electricity and Water on a “not for profit” basis. Clear River Electric & Water is regulated by the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission. Currently we provide Electric service to approximately 4,800 customers in Pascoag and Harrisville RI and 2,200 Water customers in the villages of Pascoag, Harrisville & Oakland-Mapleville.
CREW is issuing a notice of outdoor water restrictions until further notice. Water levels are down, causing wells to pull air into the system, resulting in cloudy water. The restrictions consist of the following: irrigation of lawns via sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems, filling swimming pools, washing of vehicles, washing exterior buildings, parking lots, driveways and sidewalks. Watering vegetable gardens and maintenance of livestock is allowed. We ask that everyone please help to conserve water whenever possible.
This post will be taken down as soon as the water ban is lifted.
